Assistant Teaching Professor - Advertising

Are you an advertising professional currently working in either a creative or account planning/advertising strategy role who is interested in helping prepare the next generation of advertising professionals? And are you an experienced strategic communicator who is equally comfortable in both the digital and traditional elements of advertising? If so, the Penn State Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications might have the teaching opportunity you have been seeking.

We are looking for a non-tenure track faculty to teach undergraduate courses in advertising creative strategy, advertising campaigns, or brand strategy.

The Bellisario College is committed to building a leading-edge advertising program that is focused on the dynamic needs of the industry, one that places emphasis on creating brand experiences that drive strong consumer engagement across paid, owned, and earned media channels. To achieve that, we need inspiring professionals with excellent professional and academic credentials that can help students imagine the future of brands in new, exciting ways that helps drive engagement between brands and consumers.

Qualifications:

  • The successful candidate should hold a master's degree.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in advertising and creative strategy.
  • Experience in developing strong, integrated communications programs for professional clients.
  • Previous experience in teaching in a collegiate environment preferred but not required.
  • What You Will Do:

  • Lead classroom lectures and discussions using innovative and creative teaching strategies.
  • Drive student engagement through the introduction of leading-edge industry trends.
  • Provide mentorship to students as they prepare their journey for their chosen industry focus.
  • Provide service within the College as well as through community involvement.
