Job Function
Under the supervision of the Dean of Enrollment Management, the Director of Enrollment Marketing and Communications is responsible for developing and implementing the overall prospective student marketing and communication strategy for the Offices of Admissions and Financial Aid, including digital, website, and print. The Director will be responsible for new initiatives that integrate both offices and utilizing data and analytics to regularly assess effectiveness. The Director will oversee the front desk staff in the Office of Admissions to build on our strong customer service efforts. Finally, the Director will also work closely with Pre-College Programs and the Office of Communications to ensure consistency of messaging and appropriate branding.

Position Summary Information

Essential Duties Summary

  • Create and manage multiple communication flows and marketing campaigns for various audiences, primarily prospective first-year and transfer/visiting applicants, that drive enrollment goals across the applicant life cycle, from prospect search through student matriculation.
  • Support Offices of Admission and Financial Aid around virtual communications in key recruitment efforts-including visits and events on- and off-campus, decision release, yield, financial aid communication, and student search.
  • Maintain a detailed knowledge of Slate as a CRM and digital marketing tool to support enrollment goals through strategic marketing.
  • Maintain strong analytics through Slate reporting to understand how campaigns are meeting enrollment goals.
  • Collaborate closely with staff across enrollment departments to connect print marketing, web and social media campaigns.
  • Work closely with the Office of Communications to ensure marketing reflects and communicates the Barnard brand and adheres to brand standards. Create an enrollment strategy and style guide.
  • Develop effective CRM systems and daily communication flows within Slate to support prospective student inquiries and calls, including implementing inbox and text campaigns.



Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge experience with Technolutions Slate
  • Proven project management and organizational skills with experience balancing multiple projects and deadlines at one time
  • Excellent knowledge of communication and marketing best practices
  • Experience in developing creative and compelling content for use in multiple platforms
  • Understanding of the values of a liberal arts education for women and the ability to articulate them effectively.
  • Highly developed writing and proof writing skills.
  • Demonstrated self-direction, initiative, and follow-through
  • Ability to track multiple projects, set priorities and meet deadlines under pressure, with frequently changing priorities



Required Qualification Summary

  • BA/BS in relevant field. Master's degree strongly preferred.
  • 7-10 years of related experience within Admissions and Higher Ed
