Position Summary:
KFF is a nonprofit leader in health policy analysis, polling and survey research, and health journalism. Its mission is to fill the need for trusted information on national health issues. KFF serves as a nonpartisan source of facts, information, and analysis for policymakers, the health care community, and the public.
Within its communications team, KFF is seeking a web producer who will help prepare and post content on kff.org in a timely, high quality, and efficient manner. This is a role for a fast and flexible learner who enjoys public policy content and the opportunity to engage with teams across an organization to communicate about issues that make a difference in health policy today. This position reports to the director of digital marketing and web development, who is based in Washington, DC.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Regularly update kff.org’s WordPress website with new content, edit copy, and upload and embed graphics with a focus on applying KFF’s brand guidelines, SEO best practices, and ensuring ADA compliance. As necessary, edit HTML code to address display issues.
- Manage the display of data visualizations created by internal teams.
- Edit and resize images in Photoshop with the potential to create graphics for the website.
- Liaise with the web development team to support the deployment of new features, reporting and tracking website bugs or problems, and quality control testing.
- Support other web development and production tasks, as necessary, including potentially conducting some research projects related to digital best practices.
Minimum Required Experience and Skills:
- At least two years of experience with the Word Press CMS and knowledge of basic HTML required to make style changes to web pages.
- Project management system experience (preferably Asana), a plus.
- Familiarity with Photoshop or other graphics editing programs, a plus.
- Ability to handle a high volume of work and function in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
- Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
- Strong written, oral, interpersonal communication and time-management skills.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, for a bi-coastal organization.
This full-time position will be based in KFF’s San Francisco headquarters. KFF is currently working a hybrid schedule and requires all staff to work in the office a minimum of 2 days a week, with a longer-term hybrid policy of 3 days a week.
Compensation
The annual salary range for this position is between $70,000 and $85,000 annually. Offers are based on the candidate's years of experience and KFF’s practice of upholding salary equity. KFF also offers a generous, comprehensive benefits package.
