Kirkus Reviews is seeking a talented, experienced Editor to work within Kirkus Indie, the self-publishing section of Kirkus Reviews. The Editor will be responsible for assigning reviews, assisting the team, editing book reviews and the magazine, writing columns and features about Indie titles, maintaining a social media presence, etc. The Editor will also provide guidance and feedback to editorial assistants and interns. Individuals in the BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, disabled, and other traditionally underrepresented communities are highly encouraged to apply. Compensation range $55k - $70k. This is a full-time position based in New York, NY, or remote. Benefits include health, dental, vision, 401k, PTO, and more. EOE.

Required:
-A strong grasp of grammar and AP Style
-At least 4 years of professional editorial experience
-General knowledge of publishing
-Great organizational skills
-Respect for deadlines
-Excellent writing and communication skills
-Strict attention to detail
-A passion for books and book-industry trends, especially self-publishing
