ABOUT THE ROLE

The Mansueto Ventures Social Video Fellowship is a one-year fellowship designed to give recent college graduates or master’s degree recipients exposure to all aspects of social video journalism at the company’s editorial title, Fast Company.

Upon successful completion of the program, the fellow will be strongly considered for suitable job opportunities at Mansueto Ventures.

This role will require in office presence Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Hourly range: $15- $23. Compensation may vary based on relevant experience, skills, industry, and education.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

The fellow will spend the year working with the centralized video team and Fast Company’s social team to ideate, shoot, edit and post social video, while being exposed to the newsroom and contributing in their day to day operations. This curriculum will enable the fellow to interact with journalists and business leaders from Fast Company throughout the year, providing valuable insights into how news publications may approach stories differently or where they may find opportunities for collaboration. The fellow will sit in on editorial pitch meetings and witness firsthand how stories are taken from pitch to post.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Must have a bachelor’s degree or higher
• Previous journalism experience at a college newspaper, magazine, website, television or radio outlet, and/or internship at a news organization
• Exceptional verbal and written communications skills
• Exceptional organizational skills
• Proficiency in basic film shooting and editing techniques
• Knowledge of social trends and a willingness to stay up to date
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Office and other Office productivity tools, with aptitude to learn new software and systems
• Flexible team player who is willing to do what it takes to get the job done; adaptable and enjoys a challenge
• Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced work environment
• Ability to keep company confidences
