Job Description

Oversee a daily, half hour syndicated show based off the People Magazine brand. The EP/showrunner will conceptualize and launch the show to premiere on the Meredith station group this Fall. The position will hire a team to bring the pages of People magazine to television in an informative and entertaining way.

The Executive Producer/Showrunner will plan all editorial, build a rundown, approve scripts, visuals, VOD digital clips for People.com and outside promotion.

The EP/showrunner will manage the production team, on-air talent, guest booking and sales pitches. They will collaborate with the People.com website and magazine partners and motivate staff from development and production through programming and distribution, ensuring creative quality, timely delivery, budget and adherence to rights and clearances guidelines.

Essential Job Functions

40% - Oversee all aspects of development and production to track with schedule, budgeting, and deliverables. Manage rights and clearances and oversee best integration practices with associated print and digital properties.

20% - Manage relationships internally and externally and potential partnerships with Meredith's network of local broadcast television stations, external talent, agencies representing talent, syndicators, PR agencies, and companies supplying production services.

15% - Find economies of scale in production. Oversee staff workflow and scheduling to continually improve speed, efficiency and quality.

10% - Oversee management of assets, working with Meredith teams to establish a system for archiving and organizing video assets so content can be easily tapped for future use.

10% - Inspire creativity, lead, develop, and mentor team.

5% - Monitor analytics for trends that inform future production and schedules.

Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Digital Media/Video Production, Broadcast Journalism, Film & Television preferred.

Experience: Minimum 10 years syndicated show production, including experience supervising the creation of short-form original videos and series, managing teams, liaising with talent, digital editing and graphics, budgeting, legal issues, and familiarity with analytics.

Specific knowledge, skills and capabilities:

- Strong project management skills; proactive, assertive, and detail-oriented.

- A diplomat, able to collaborate with all other departments to achieve overall goals.

- A leader who knows how to get the best out of team, and mentor as needed.

- Results-oriented, with an ability to balance daily and long-range video production and programming.

- Ability to supervise production and post-production; familiarity with AVID, Final Cut, and Premier.
