Salary: stipend of $5000.00 to attend all webinars and in-person meetings plus two paid three-day residencies in Washington, DC

Level: Entry Level

Duration: Part-Time

The Moment Institute Middle East Fellows program offers American reporters, producers, stringers and editors covering the Middle East a concentrated way to gain in-depth knowledge about the region. The low-residency fellowship, in partnership with Poynter, introduces fellows to journalists and experts with different experiences and backgrounds to discuss a wide range of topics with ample opportunities for questions and conversations.

In late spring and early summer 2023, the Moment Institute will host 10 American journalists interested in learning more about the greater Middle East region and the complexities of covering it in a new short-term fellowship program. The program is geared specifically toward journalists who are already reporting or editing stories about the region, or who have plans to do so.

Fellows will meet and learn from veteran Middle East journalists, experts and analysts in person, in Washington, D.C., and through several virtual meetings. The fellowship includes opportunities for mentoring, brainstorming and networking. Fellows will receive a $5,000 stipend and two paid, three-day residencies in Washington. The deadline to apply is March 15, 2023.
