Salary: A minimum salary of $75,618 will be provided to the successful candidate who has at least 5 years of experience directly relevant to this role, consistent with the National Women’s Law Center’s compensation framework.

The Position

The National Women’s Law Center seeks two(2)experienced organizers and communicators to support issue campaigns and other initiatives that advance progress for women and girls at school, at work, at home, and in their communities. The Senior Managers should be excellent writers, have a keen sense of humor, and serve as an inclusive organizers, using both digital and offline tools to develop and implement compelling, creative, and effective advocacy campaigns for their specific portfolios.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute multi-channel marketing and campaigns strategies to engage and mobilize Law Center supporters on a variety of issues including but not limited to education equity, workplace justice, sexual harassment, school pushout, equal pay, health care, abortion and birth control access, and reproductive rights.
  • Develop and write campaign plans, action alerts, social media content, blog posts, toolkits, and other related materials that forward the Center’s legislative, policy, and narrative change goals, and inspire action among our constituents.
  • Supervise, manage, and develop 1-2 portfolio-related staff.
  • Represent NWLC at occasional coalition meetings and manage and nurture relationships with peers at partner organizations.
  • Produce campaign success reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Organize, execute, and manage occasional rallies, virtual activations, internal and external meetings, webinars, and public speaking opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively and closely with colleagues in the Communications Department and with relevant program teams.
  • Manage relationships with consultants and other vendors.

Qualifications

The ideal candidates will possess:

  • At least five years’ experience running issue advocacy and/or local campaigns, organizing, and/or digital advocacy.
  • Experience supervising, managing or coordinating the work of staff, interns, or volunteers.
  • A talent for grasping key policy messages and effectively communicating them to a variety of audiences, especially across digital channels.
  • A sense of humor, and ability to work independently but with a collaborative approach.
  • The ability to be self-directed, work well with competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong writing skills and experience writing across platforms and for diverse audiences.
  • Experience in planning rallies, protests, and other events.

Additional preferred skills and knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not required.
  • Specific experience working on sexual harassment and violence, workplace justice, educational equity, or reproductive rights, health, or justice from an intersectional lens strongly preferred.
  • Experience with other issues related to gender justice, racial justice, health equity or LGBTQ+ equality a plus.
  • Demonstrated commitment to and experience working on gender and racial equity and centering communities of color in their approach to work.
  • Experience working in a legal and policy-heavy field a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with communications tools such as social media platforms and analytics, eCRMS, webinars, action alerts, listservs, and databases a plus.

Key Relationships

The Senior Managers are centered on the Marketing & Communications team and report to the Director of Campaigns. Additionally, both positions will have a portfolio with key areas of focus, and as such will collaborate closely with respective program teams. Senior Managers will also supervise 1-2 staff members and/or interns.
