NBC Bay Area is looking for a digital video editor to support daily digital news content creation. We are looking for someone with a passion for online news and an eye for visualizing stories quickly for different platforms under very tight deadline pressures.

The right candidate is a digitally savvy content creator with strong Adobe Premiere and After Effects skills. You must be well-versed in user behavior and engagement nuances of each major social media platform and understand how to edit effectively for each. Experience working in a fast-paced newsroom environment is a plus.

The Digital Video Editor will work closely with our Digital Correspondent to produce and edit daily social media news briefs. They will also be assigned daily spot news video assignments that can range from short social media videos to brief OTT story recaps.

Job Duties:

Edit daily digital video content
Edit news briefs/shows for multiple platforms that include: Website, OTT, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and TikTok
Edit spot news video assignments for quick turnaround
Upload finished content to all platforms
Write headlines and summaries that accompany video content
Create thumbnails

This is a temporary, 6-month position.

Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

Must submit a cover letter and provide three examples of your work in order to be considered

Minimum of 1-2 years experience

Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, long hours, weekends and overtime

Strong digital video editing skills

Must be highly proficient in Adobe Premiere

Must be comfortable working with Photoshop and After Effects

Knowledgeable on how to upload and publish video content quickly across multiple social media platforms

Familiarity with a CMS or standard web publishing software

Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus

Bachelor’s degree
