Manager of Pricing and Planning

Responsibilities:

  • Build annual sales model with input from sales management, finance dept., network programming, TVSD, and local programming/news departments.
  • Manage and own pricing, inventory utilization, and yield management models.
  • Set quarterly, monthly, weekly, and OTO rates and guidelines for sales dept.
  • Produce and publish weekly rate card.
  • Work with sales management to establish and approve all sales packages and rates before being submitted to agency/client and before receipt of order. Responsible for approval of all orders going into the sales system on a daily basis.
  • Work with traffic dept. to optimize inventory utilization and yield.
  • Manage and approve all make good activity and inventory movement.
  • Track and manage all sales information related to avails, rates, sellouts, inventory usage, cost-per-points, ratings, oversell/undersell, ADU, bonus spots, etc.
  • Work with traffic dept. to insure current and updated inventory availability, unit rate and sellout information.
  • Track and publish sales pending and station demand information on a weekly basis.
  • Prepare monthly pricing and inventory reports and quarterly forecasts.
  • Coordinate schedule-posting process and approve all ADU requests and packages.
  • Ensure usage of standardized sales pending, proposal and posting systems, tools and process.
  • Prepare ad hoc sales reports as needed by station/division management.
  • Proactively anticipate inventory demand, pressure, and utilization.
  • Make data-driven recommendations and leadership to the sales team.
  • Drive the controllership of inventory management.
  • Prepare and produce accurate inventory-related reports.
