Marketing Manager, MSNBC

The Marketing Manager works with the MSNBC Brand Marketing team and broader NBC News Marketing department to develop and deploy marketing strategies and tactics in support of various MSNBC content touchpoints.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Serve as marketing thought leader and point person for The Choice from MSNBC streaming channel and associated shows and talent
  • Manage ongoing marketing needs, including multi-platform promotion across MSNBC and Peacock media
  • Work in lockstep with Peacock stakeholders to optimize visibility for The Choice on-and off-platform and drive consumption
  • Demonstrate expertise in streaming space and passion to learn and grow with the medium
-Lead marketing for portfolio of MSNBC Perspective & Analysis shows
  • Manage day-to-day marketing needs, including topical promotion
  • Spearhead marketing for podcast extensions associated with portfolio of shows/talent
-Across entire portfolio:
  • Lead development of strategic positioning, briefs, creative assets and campaigns
  • Work closely with Creative and Media teams to bring creative to life in a smart, timely fashion across owned and third-party media
  • Collaborate with partner teams including shows/editorial, digital, social, PR, programming and sales
  • Ideate and execute content extensions across various media (social, audio, digital)
  • Be a voracious consumer of MSNBC content; proactively identify content for promotional use
  • Make strategic recommendations based on frequent, in-depth assessments of competitive programming and audience trends
-Contribute to MSNBC’s brand-level communications
-Strategize innovative and non-traditional ways to market MSNBC to fuel audience growth and brand affinity; focus on gaining and retaining younger audiences
-Develop intimate knowledge of all of MSNBC’s non-linear content extensions, associated consumption behaviors, measurement tools, and emerging media trends


-4+ years marketing experience at an agency or media company
-Must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

-Project management experience
-Experience working with talent

-Ability to translate consumer insights into actionable strategies and lead creative development in support of these strategies
-Consumer of streaming, digital, social and podcast content
-Creative, innovative thinker
-Autonomous self-starter
-Understanding of trends in media, marketing, content consumption and distribution
-Strong grasp of news and current events
