Manager, Programming Publicity

Level: Manager (Supervisor)
The Manager, Programming Publicity will be responsible for generating maximum, positive media for Telemundo’s entertainment programming. The role reports to the VP, Entertainment Publicity.
Job Duties
Development and execution of strategic long-term and short-term plans for external publicity (consumer media) and internal cross promotions (network shows, stations, affiliates and digital media) generating maximum amount of positive coverage on all our prime-time programming priorities, and cross promotions efforts for non-TLMD primetime programming priorities
Strategize the publishing of existing content, customized social content, as well as social-driven concepts across the Telemundo social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter official accounts
Create the publicity strategies and all press logistics for selected primetime program launches including press events, talent and press tours to increase visibility of Telemundo Series and Super Series
Create all the consumer press materials including press releases, photo shoots, EPK’s, talent bios, satellite media tours, press junkets, media interviews, on-set visits, photo shoots and press kits under management supervision
Brainstorm and Execute strategies that support the network brand, help create awareness and drive traffic to Telemundo on-air and official social media platforms, supporting these efforts through detailed metrics showing effectiveness of the strategy
Work hand in hand with network shows, stations, affiliates, digital and Telemundo Studios producers to maximize publicity opportunities for all prime-time platforms
Communicate and provide updates to the Publicity and Social Media Teams
Build and maintain solid relationships with influencers/bloggers, reporters, talent managers, talent publicists & show producers
Maintain talent database updated (contact info, managers, publicists, influencers, social media accounts)
Service daily media requests and act as network source of information on programming publicity properties
Monitor competitive environment via daily review of competitive/industry news, and interface with other departments and NBCUniversal TV channels on an as needed basis
Is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by supervisor
Bachelor's Degree in Public Relation or related field
Minimum 5 years of publicity experience and online community management
Ability to produce thorough reports and executive summaries detailing the results of strategic efforts regarding Social Media
Deep understanding of U.S. Hispanic market and technical/social inclinations, as well as best practices for Social Media campaigns
Highly organized and able to manage/prioritize multiple projects
Must be fully fluent in Spanish and English
Additional Job Requirements
Willingness to travel with short notice and on weekends
Willingness to work flexible hours including late and/or last-minute scheduling changes in a 24/7 production work environment
Must be willing to work in the greater Miami, Florida area
Must be 18 years or older
Must have a valid driver’s license
Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program
Excellent written, verbal, communications and presentation skills
Academic training in business fundamentals, new media trends and advertising
Exhibit strong interpersonal, writing, pitching, and presentation skills
Strategic, analytical and Creative skill set
Strong computer skills including extensive experience with Microsoft Office programs -Excel, Word, Power Point
Highly organized and able to manage/prioritize multiple projects
Familiarity with US Hispanic media
Attention to detail
Experience in entertainment industry
Enthusiasm for trends
Self-starter and able to work in an extremely fast paced and high-volume environment
Experience pitching, booking and covering national and local media interviews
Able to work both independently and with a team
Able to juggle and meet numerous deadlines and identify press opportunities
Proactive, master multi-tasker, creative and strategic thinking plus strong external and team communication skills
Proven skills in launching shows, crisis management and interfacing with all levels of executives, talent and media
Superior organization and innovative thinking
Flexible work schedule with some late nights and weekend work required to cover tapings, shoots and events and frequent travel
