Production Manager

Level: Manager (Supervisor)


Production Manager will be responsible for production management functions in connection with unscripted productions. The role will liaise with third party production companies, assemble production budgets and teams for in-house productions, and contribute toward continuous process improvement.


Responsibilities
  • Work with Production Creative teams to align budgets with creative requirements, production schedules, and production milestones for assigned productions
  • Review and analyze production budgets and schedules coming from third party production companies
  • Build production budgets, schedules and milestones from bottoms up for in-house productions
  • Handle budget negotiation with project vendors
  • Prepare production plans, schedules and milestones
  • Facilitate process & platforms for omnichannel production adoption
  • Review and analyze third party production company cost reporting
  • Work with Finance counterparts to ensure expenses are being captured appropriately
  • Help manage production budget pacing and forecast
  • Anticipate areas of potential savings or overages and report to direct supervisor
  • Work with Manager Production Compliance to ensure productions adhere to EHS/OSHA regulations and procedures
  • Liaise between producers and internal departments as needed (e.g. Network, Finance, Business & Legal,
  • Standards & Practices, Rights & Clearances, Post etc.)
  • Liaise with legal for production-related questions and needs, such as Independent Contractor Agreements
  • Make sure productions obtain appropriate legal documentation (e.g. Certificates of Engagement, location agreements, etc)
  • Ensure that all work is done under the technical guidelines and operations procedures of Telemundo Center infrastructure
  • Manage ongoing workflow and communication cadence with creative team as it pertains to production deliverables
  • Collaborate with department head on overall business transformation and organization effectiveness initiatives
  • Work with management to provide additional areas of support


Basic Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years hands-on experience in production management or line producer for a broadcast and/or cable network OR equivalent experience within a production company
• Prior experience with financial budgeting, forecasting and management of budgets
• Ability to execute on production plans
• Exhibits knowledge of production operations and planning
• Proficient in Movie Magic, MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet Explorer, and Internet search engines
• Exhibits working knowledge of health and safety requirements
• Must be able to perform job at locations in and outside work environment with varying weather conditions
• Willingness to travel and on weekends with short notice

• Written and verbal Spanish literacy
