Manager–Audience Operations

As part of the NBCUniversal Enterprise Data Team, the Manager of Audience Operations works closely with brands and advertisers looking to use NBCUnified data to reach people with targeted messaging in paid media and owned channels. With responsibility for audience data strategy, planning and profiling, selection, activation, and measurement, this team guides, supports and ensures successful optimization of audiences to achieve marketing objectives.
The right candidate has experience managing audience catalog, has extensive experience supporting audience operations in CDP, DMP, or other audience platforms, selecting, syndicating and tracking audiences, and is adept at end to end activities associated with audience testing. He/she also blends marketing, technical/digital, and performance marketing knowledge, and has worked with data scientists, product and technical teams, media
planning teams.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with teams and partners to translate marketing/campaign objectives into actionable audience objectives
  • Create, size, profile audience segments, drawing insights and recommendations, and devising activation and measurement plans; train and guide brands to leverage platform in this manner as well (as we move to a self service model with some brands)
  • Facilitate delivery of advanced audiences to the NBCU ad platforms and/or brand’s specific ad buying platforms. Ensure taxonomy, tracking, testing, reporting and optimization are properly enabled to drive superior audience management. Ensure successful audience sharing or onboarding.
  • Support platform demos and training, and serve as a point of contact for audience related exercises, including interaction with Strategy & Insights, Ad Sales, Ad Buying, Measurement, Audience and Brand teams.
  • Build audience profiles and briefs and socialize insights with stakeholders; evangelize this skillset in others across the company. Ability to synthesize insights derived from audience performance, person level behavioral and transactional analysis, and rich 3rdparty attributes available for profiling.
  • Assist in the creation of learning agendas and test & learn plans, including creation of hypotheses, use cases. Work closely with data scientist on insights development, identify propensity modeling / audience creation opportunities, and measurement.
  • Work with data scientists and product teams to prioritize platform enhancement priorities to ensure the best PII and non-PII identities, 1st, 2nd, 3rdparty data, internal and external technologies, and activation channels are available to platform users
  • Leverage campaign and audience performance to make audience recommendations to reach audiences across platforms and formats. Perform data validation and auditing on audience builds and activations, and identify and define automation processes and efficiencies that can streamline process and improve accuracy.
  • Help internal and external clients think holistically about how 1st, 2nd, 3rd party identities and data can best support the end to end planning, buying, activation and measurement process, including addressable targeting, engagement and personalization, and campaign performance measurement
  • Provide expertise and thought leadership on market trend on audience strategy, cookie-less preparation, addressable TV, and cutting-edge technologies in martech and adtech
  • Provide guidance to clients and partners on how to best unlock value from data and audience building platform in answering audience briefs and business objectives
  • Work with analysts and data scientists to define audience traits, scalable taxonomy, self service modules, performance metrics, measurement requirements, test design, uncover performance and insights and unlock opportunities for improvement through optimization and enhancements
  • Work with Sr. leaders in the creation of market facing case studies as well as internal facing playbooks based on successful audience driven brand and ad sales activations.


Qualifications:
• A minimum of 5yearsof relevant professional experience
• A minimum of 3yearsin client-facing role with internal or external clients
• A minimum of 3yearsinaudience development and technology, data driven marketing, digital media. Strong knowledge of digital advertising ecosystem, and experience enabaling successful campaign execution and optimization.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience with DMP’s, CDP’s, CRM’s,and agency audience platforms (e.g., Merkury, PeopleCloud, mPlatform)
• Passion for building processes and efficiently scaling practices; logical and long term oriented view of audience taxonomy and metadata; desire to work with data governance teams
• Love for collaborating cross functionally, and
• Comfortable working in a “startup” environment within a larger company and demonstrated ability to organize and establish a team in such an environment
• Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects in a fast-paced setting, thrive in deadline driven and fast paced environment.
• Growth mindset, curiosity, excitement; high degree of accountability and ownership
• It’s a plus to have experience working with person level insights and data to support the full consumer journey / lifecycle.
