Vice President, Creative Content

The Creative Content Vice President for Focus Features is responsible for the planning and execution of marketing content strategies on all Focus Features’ films working closely with the department Senior Vice President.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Collaborate with Focus’ publicity and marketing executives, filmmakers, and talent to develop and produce innovative and highly compelling marketing content.
  • Oversee production vendors throughout all stages of content development, creation, and distribution.
  • Hire and manage EPK crews on set, coordinating with filmmakers and unit publicity.
  • Strategically utilize BTS crews to maximize the creation of meaningful content as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible.
  • Cut all film clips for marketing and publicity, managing all stages of the clip approval and distribution process.
  • Direct and lead creative working sessions with applicable divisions company wide.
  • Identify and track relevant technological and digital media trends to ensure we are creating most effective content across all platforms.
  • Maintain, build, and proactively seek out productive and impactful relationships throughout Universal Filmed Entertainment Group and NBCUniversal to ensure maximization of the creation and use of content.
  • Work closely with the Senior Vice President on final stages of content creation.


• 10+ years’ experience in filmed or TV entertainment in the development of creative marketing strategies.
• 5+ years’ experience in producing and creating audio-visual creative marketing materials.
• Demonstrated background in managing a creative production process, including leading production and post-production crews.
• Theatrical marketing experience, creating relevant marketing content (BTS or digital/social,).
• Exceptional creative thinking skills with a clear track record of generating compelling marketing ideas and strategies, leading successful brainstorming sessions, and managing a creative process.
• Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and collaborate with senior executives, creative partners, and peers across a highly matrixed, fast-paced, innovative, and highly energetic corporate culture.
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the demonstrated ability to deliver impactful presentations and pitches to senior business and marketing leaders, filmmakers, and talent.
• Clear understanding of the latest trends in media technology development, digital media innovations, and consumer media consumption patterns.
• Proven ability to work under deadline pressures with minimal supervision and a willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to drive tasks to completion.
