NBCUniversal Local / Regional Sports Networks are looking for a full-time staff Art Director, with a cutting-edge eye for design, for its rapidly growing array of Live Events broadcasts and studio shows. In this role you will lead a team of designers across the country in creating new looks for NBCU Local / RSN programming and marketing while maintaining the values of this storied brand. Multiple elements will need to come alive with new studio on-air graphics for major sports properties and programming.

Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualize, design, develop, execute, and animate high-end design projects that are integrated into multiple live sporting events and studio shows
  • Directly manage a small team to handle all the on-air graphic design needs for live events and studio shows
  • Work collaboratively with NBCU Local creative directors and marketing leads
  • Supervise the design and production for live event and studio on-air graphics
  • Influence, design and conceptualize all aspects of design across all promotional deliverables on or off air
  • Work with the Multi-Platform Art Director on digital and NBCU Local cross station efforts
  • Advise stations and local art directors as to the best strategic approaches to design, knowing how to best deliver any message or tone
  • Develop and coach talent
  • Optimize design workflows, identify redundancies and inefficiencies, and develop various solutions

Basic Qualifications

  • Eight (8) + years experience working at a network or broadcast design agency
  • College graduate with degree in graphic design or fine arts
  • Complete understanding of the implementation of design elements in network television and live sports environments a must
  • Hands-on ability with strong technical skills (Adobe CS/After Effects/C4D)
  • Knowledge of Cinema 4D is a plus
  • Passion for show packaging and knowledge of current trends in graphic design
  • Strong concept & storyboard design skills
  • Unparalleled design, logo and typography skills
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Accustomed to delegating responsibilities to other team members, holding team members accountable for performance benchmarks to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery

  • Must be willing to work in Connecticut
