Shop TODAY, the commerce arm of TODAY, is looking for an experienced Commerce Editor/Producer to manage the digital optimization and programming of our shoppable broadcast and streaming segments. This person will be responsible for editing all digital articles tied to Shop TODAY’s efforts across broadcast, streaming and other special projects.

The ideal candidate must be a well-rounded copy editor with a passion for service journalism and knowledge and/or an interest in broadcast and streaming video. This person should have the ability to analyze data to inform content strategy, including assigning digital articles, pitching ideas to producers and supporting producers in the execution of shoppable segments.

We’re looking for a proactive leader with strong news judgment who understands editorial best practices and feels comfortable juggling multiple tasks in a fast-paced media environment. They should also be a strategic thinker and collaborator who can work across teams including the editorial director, producers, senior editors, social media and the business development to meet team KPIs.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with the Editorial Director to conceptualize and execute a strategy for Shop TODAY’s digital coverage tied to broadcast, streaming and other special projects
  • Assign, copy edit and publish articles tied to shoppable segments on broadcast, streaming and other special projects
  • Work with producers to coordinate the digital programming of shoppable segments
  • Support producers as needed by gathering product recommendations, elements and ensuring all legal and standards guidelines are upheld
  • Present performance and strategic pitches to producers via monthly reporting
  • Regularly provide stakeholders with data and key takeaways to inform strategy and identify areas of growth while upholding editorial standards and best practices
  • Collaborate with the TODAY Digital and Shop TODAY senior editors to amplify content
  • Develop and maintain Shop TODAY’s broadcast and streaming Style Guide
  • Manage an editorial assistant and intern, providing mentorship and guidance


• 3+ years editing experience at major media brand,
commerce experience a plus
• 1+ years of management experience
• Exceptional knowledge of grammar and AP Style
• Experience with copy editing
• Comfortable analyzing data to inform editorial strategy
• Highly organized, detail-oriented and excellent
verbal/written communication skills
• Experience and/or interest in broadcast and streaming
content
