NBC Universal is hiring a Senior Manager of Editorial Planning to join the Editorial Planning team in support of our direct-to-consumer streaming service, Peacock. This is a highly cross-functional role that will help drive the ideation and execution of Peacock’s acquisition and growth plans, acting as a linchpin in linking on-product merchandising tactics to CRM, social, promotional and media strategies. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about media, is detail-obsessed, has excellent relationship management skills and is interested in working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment!

The Editorial Planning team is tasked with managing all calendaring functions, identifying and prioritizing key title launches, tentpole campaigns, live sports and news events and other key customer lifecycle events, providing a clear and comprehensive view of the key drivers of the business. With visibility across the entire organization, we provide guidance on everything from content acquisition to on-product content recommendations and product features, connecting various cross-functional teams including originals, product, PR, acquisitions, social, creative, and marketing teams to maximize performance across all consumer touchpoints.

The successful candidate for this role will bring a strong track record of building relationships across teams, the ability to analyze disparate sources of data and an intense commitment to organization and detail. The role requires a unique combination of expertise across fields, most importantly, content strategy and relationship management. The Sr Manager of Editorial Planning will be counted on to integrate the work of distinct teams into a single, focused perspective.

Key Responsibilities
  • Optimize and maintain day-to-day planning and tracking tools for cross-team visibility from scheduling calendars, campaign management, internal updates, and external factors.
  • Ensure editorial priorities aligns with the product, brand, content and marketing strategies and partner closely with teams across the organization including Marketing, Comms, Content Strategy, Product, and more
  • Communicate merchandising and editorial priorities with Comms, Social, Symphony, Originals, Acquisitions and Marketing
  • Collaborate and implement on longer-term editorial planning given content rollouts, industry standards, marketing activations and product improvements.
  • Help to set go to market editorial plans for new and renewed show launches, and priority films including originals, Day & Date/Pay 1 Films and next day current content from NBCU brands.
  • Assist with content recommendation reviews and optimizations to ensure priority content is being driven to, includes setting content priorities for review.
  • Understand and drive communication around metrics tied to originals performance on platform.
  • Coordinate and create weekly Editorial snapshot that highlights Editorial merchandising plans and priorities for the coming week.
  • Develop a robust calendar with key “tent poles” and evergreen campaigning that drive user engagement.
  • Project manage the Editorial collections process from ideation, kick-off, launch to postmortem
  • Understand the competitive landscape and help define Peacock Editorial’s unique place in the market
  • Assist with sports planning including identifying priorities for binge opportunities.
  • Track and support guest talent curations through every step of the process from requests, content pulls, scripting, editing and launch on platform.


• 4+ years in a strategic marketing, content strategy or editorial role for streaming services, television, feature film or interactive media
• Proven success collaborating with cross-functional teams to handle complex projects across diverse groups or organizations
• Excellent multi-tasking and project management skills with strong attention to detail
• A self-starter, entrepreneurial demeanor who can balance multiple tasks with limited support staff
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, particularly with senior executives and cross-functional partners
• Highly organized and skilled in project management with the ability to easily navigate a variety of digital tools such as Airtable, Slack, Microsoft suite (PowerPoint, Excel) and Microsoft Teams
• Knowledge of competitive landscape including SVOD, AVOD and OTT services
• Demonstrated interest in staying current on industry trends and best practices
• A genuine passion and familiarity with film and television
