About the role

Responsible for developing marketing strategies and executing campaigns for a variety of trade, nonfiction books year round. Role manages all aspects of marketing for assigned titles, and coordinates strategy, advertising, promotion, social media, and appropriate metrics from start to finish.

  • Develops and executes strategic marketing campaigns, which include: digital advertising, social media, consumer outreach, bookseller outreach, and digital outreach for key front list titles
  • Coordinates global marketing campaigns with counterparts in the UK and US
  • Assists with management of ad/promo and T&E budget
  • Responsible for developing robust content marketing strategies and the creation of trade digital content assets, such as Amazon+ detail content
  • Researches of new digital advertising platforms and monitors ad performance for improved ROI
  • Serves as a point of contact for sales, editorial, and publicity, as well as authors and agents
  • Manages social media campaigns for assigned books
  • Works closely with sales team to ensure books are set up for success, which includes assisting the sales team with special outreach as well as the creation of marketing materials such as flyers, brochures, etc.
  • Identify and pursue online and offline partnerships to help extend the reach of titles and authors
  • Represent trade marketing at relevant meetings (e.g. marketing meetings, Sales Conference, Editorial Board)
  • Works with Publicity to amplify media hits through multiple marketing channels

About you

  • 4-5 years of marketing experience desired-book marketing experience a plus
  • A strong understanding of the market for academic non-fiction
  • Excellent written & communication skills
  • Skilled at presenting to groups
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and social-media savvy
  • Data driven, and ROI focused
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, as well as Google Ads, Google Analytics, Twitter, and Facebook advertising platforms a plus
  • Position can be remote or in one of our office locations: Cary, NC/New York/Sunderland, MA
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a virtual environment.
