This position oversees the pre-press supplier performance in producing corrected files for a number of distribution channels that can range from simple to complex. The Sr. Production Editor-TSPM is expected to ensure that all individual product components are delivered timely, accurately and within budget. Primary job requirements are to ensure that the suppliers are effectively coordinating activities to update products to OUP’s quality standards and to meet, or beat, planned schedules and budgets.

  • Support the suppliers in updating existing content files:
    • Support the suppliers with schedules and budgets
    • Support the suppliers in evaluating performance discrepancies and collaborate on solutions
  • Resolve supplier performance issues
    • Analyze and resolve product related problems in conjunction with suppliers with content and process.
    • Provide guidance, training and support
  • Advocate for OUP and supplier:
    • Manage expectations of all parties if necessary and do so with skill and knowledge so that all projects are met with success.
      • Key stakeholders feel supported and their requirements are being met
      • Suppliers are getting what they need to effectively meet stated requirements

ABOUT YOU

  • Minimum three years in supplier management
  • Minimum three years in related book production work
  • High degree of attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Able to elicit information, ascertain root cause, and facilitate path to success.
  • Able to manage multiple and conflicting priorities and projects at once—possess good decisions on prioritization; and ability to monitor schedules and manage workflow
  • Relationship builder and ability to work with various internal stakeholders, up to manager level

Desirable (Not Essential, but good to have):

  • Knowledge of print and digital production processes and project management in a content-centric publishing environment

Location: This position can be remote, or located in one of our offices - Cary, NC or New York
