The Hollywood Reporter: Senior Editor
COVID-19 HIRING UPDATE: We have transitioned to a remote work model and are continuing to hire during this time. This role is expected to begin as a remote position. We appreciate this is unprecedented times and will work closely with you, taking into account your individual circumstances.
The Hollywood Reporter is seeking an experienced Senior Editor to edit features and news stories across platforms, from the thriving website that serves 25+ million entertainment news followers and pop culture fans, to the print weekly that caters to the industry’s high-powered insiders and decision makers, to contributing to other editorial as needed.
The Senior Editor would work closely with writers in all departments (film, television, digital, etc.) as well as top editors working in print, video and online to assist in assigning, developing and editing feature stories and packages, and news stories.
The successful candidate should be eager to pitch in to shape stories, come up with ideas, as well as mentor some of the more junior writers on the staff in their development as well-sourced reporters who can write a feature or news story in any iteration of the news cycle.
- At least 7 years editing experience at a magazine, newspaper or digital publication
- Must be able to work in InCopy and on WordPress.
- Be a self-starter as well as a collaborative team player not only with editors but also with the photo, design and social teams.
- Use SEO, analytics and Google Trends to inform story development
