We have an opportunity for a full-time Ebook Production Associate at Penguin Random House. This role is part of the Penguin Ebook Production team,who work alongside other Adult Ebook teams within the corporate Ebook Development & Operations Group.

In this role you will convert print titles into ebooks using InDesign, HTML and CSS, and various proprietary tools; route files to review and make adjustments, and maintain them once they are in market. This opening is a great opportunity to learn about ebook production as part of a close-knit team working in a deadline-driven, rapidly changing environment. This role consists of independent work as well as collaboration, with room for growth and skill acquisition.

Responsibilities:
* Convert print files into ebooks using in-house process with instructions from publishing division
* Prepare print files for delivery to third-party vendor for conversion according to current specifications and perform initial quality review of completed ebook
* Update ebook files in response to quality issues in market or divisional request
* Traffic initial conversions and updates through review and distribution, including corrections passes
* Maintain database records with ebook production status
* Serve as communication point person for assigned divisional imprints
* Collaborate in discussions within your production team and across teams as we work to improve our processes and the digital reading experience
* Provide feedback for improvements to in-house tools

Requirements:
* Proficiency in Adobe InDesign
* Proficiency in Mac OS and iOS use
* Proficiency in MS Office applications
* Strong organizational ability
* Capacity to manage time effectively amid changing priorities
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Strong sense of teamwork
* Willingness to ask questions and raise issues

Preferred Skills:
* Experience in digital publishing or interior book design
* Experience with HTML editing software, EPUB, HTML, and CSS
* Experience with other Adobe Suite programs
* Experience with File Maker Pro/database software
