Associate Manager/Manager, Title Management – Random House Publishing Group

This highly visible and fast-paced role is responsible for the day-to-day order management and inventory-tracking of multiple divisions within the Random House Group, while working closely with the Group Sales Director and Imprint Sales Directors. The (Associate) Title Manager interacts with employees across various levels and functions within the company, as well as manages the flow of inventory, and processes the release of all orders. This role works across a wide variety of categories including non-fiction, cookbooks, lifestyle books, and business titles.

The (Associate) Title Manager will handle the following imprints: Crown, Currency, Clarkson Potter, Ten Speed Press, Harmony, and Rodale.

Responsibilities for (Associate) Title Manager Role:
* Oversees daily management of inventory of fast-moving titles across multiple imprints and facilitates release of books into the marketplace
* Works closely with various departments (sales, publishing, production, transportation) to communicate current inventory levels and account needs
* Serves as main contact for sales reps (B&N, Books a Million, Amazon, Target, Independent bookstores, etc.) to provide up-to-date status of new titles and reprints
* Participates in and provides detailed account information at meetings
* Monitors arrival of new titles and manages inventory when stock arrives
* Project manages and troubleshoots on individual titles as necessary
* Requests inventory needs from sales reps and evaluates print needs in consultation with Imprint Sales Director(s)
* Provides seasonal projections for select, high-profile titles


Requirements:
* Minimum of 2 years prior publishing experience; experience within sales is a plus; minimum of 4 years to be considered at the Manager level
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Proven ability to effective interact with employees across all levels within a company by taking initiative and making introductions and connections
* Superb attention to detail
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Ability to successfully manage multiple projects while working within a fast-paced environment
* Proactive and able to work well under pressure
* Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
* Ability to learn new programs and internal systems
* EST is preferred
