Department: 480501 - HR University Temporary Services (UTS)
Location: Raleigh, NC
Essential Job Duties:
• Provides front-end web development including user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design for a division-wide website rebuild project
• Utilize WordPress for website design and development tasks.
• Regularly work with a text editor, applying fundamental HTML and CSS knowledge.
• Maintain expertise in web development, typography, UI/UX design, and aligning web design with brand management
• Consult with NC State’s Continuing and Lifelong Education’s Vice Provost Office and Marketing and Communications staff on web development strategies, implementation, and applications.
• Work closely with NC State Continuing and Lifelong Education staff to support organizational excellence and a shared vision.
• Collaborate with other teams as it pertains to NC State Continuing and Lifelong Education’s brand, vision, and values.
Required Qualifications:
• Proficient in WordPress development including typography and brand management.
• Experience implementing wireframes and mockups to execute design strategies and detailed interaction behaviors for website pages.
• Working knowledge and experience with HTML and CSS .
• Familiarity with web standards, including W3C and WCAG 2.1 guidelines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to continuously learn and apply new technologies and methodologies.
• Effective communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with developing and integrating RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with Git/Github to manage version control.
• Expertise building Wordpress sites using the Gutenberg block editor.
• Experience leveraging analytics to guide website design and development.
• Proficiency with multiple programming languages and plugin development
