Overview
The Web Content Specialist will work with marketing and communications staff, national and local office staff, technical staff, external partners, and vendors to support initiatives as needed.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
Contact member college development points of contact on a regular basis to request and create content articles to support updates of member college-oriented pages, the UNCF annual report, and newsletters using Associated Press and UNCF in-house style guides.
Support daily and project web content creation, publishing and editing; and special projects as they arise.
Edit photos using Adobe Photoshop.
Monitor and be primary person to complete content submissions as sent through Gathercontent.com.
Create, update and maintain Web pages in content management system (WordPress).
Support solicited input from departments and offices weekly to ensure on-going information creation and content is maintained.
Edit and post website content upon approval.
Complete special assignments regarding content organization, updating, modifications or other projects as assigned.
Monitor content on live site and escalate when needed.
Ensure that produced content complies with all brand and Web style guidelines.
Manage image library submissions, ensuring images are up to date, sorted, sized per need, and correctly tagged.
Track through multiple projects and provide weekly updates or as needed to UNCF BMC team.
Manage process for content reviews and audits with constituents and web support team; ensure all pages are reviewed on schedule.

No supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in writing, journalism, public relations, media, communications or related field; 3-5 years of working in website, news, public relations environment.
· Excellent writing skills
· Used AP Style to edit documents
· Strong understanding of multi-channel communication systems
· Basic awareness of SEO and Google Analytics
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Understand how to use website CMS; experience with Word Press preferred.
Experience using Adobe Photoshop to edit, crop and resize photos.
Awareness of the principles of graphic design to support resizing graphics/images.
Experience in writing and editing copy for websites and/or publications.
Knowledge of AP Style Guide and using it to edit copy.
Familiarity with using in-house style guides.
Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing.
Ability to multitask and handle several projects at any one time. Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential material in a responsible manner.

Salary Range:
$61,200.00 - $68,900.00; Salary is commensurate with experience, and for the Headquarters location in Washington DC. This is a hybrid position.
