Salary: $70,000/year plus up to $500/month home office expense reimbursement
Time Commitment: Full-time starting ASAP
Location: 100% Remote

We are hiring a Video Production Manager to join our team. The Video Production Manager will report directly to the Supervising Producer and serve as a member of the Video Team. This position also supports the operations of More Perfect Union through contract tracking, payment and organization of video consultants.
The Video Production Manager must be a forward-thinking and well organized individual who uses their proven skills and experience to manage all aspects of video production, ensures tracking, coordination and proactive communication with videographers, producers and interview subjects, works with the team on visual ideas and execution and identifies best practices for video to improve daily operations.
The Video Production Manager role requires a high-level of self-sufficiency, strong collaboration and communication skills and a desire to support the advocacy journalism mission of More Perfect Union.
Core Responsibilities:
- Report to and work with the Supervising Producer to plan and execute shoots;
- Maintain and grow a nationwide network of freelance videographers;
- Oversee outreach to freelancers videographers;
- Manage and oversee all video pre-production planning and production activities;
- Schedule and handle all pre-production calls in coordination with producers and/or editors, ensuring the delivery of spec guidelines and beat sheets to videographers
- Identify and book venues as needed;
- Track spending for each video project;
- Deliver high quality product on time and within budget;
- Oversee the payment, contract process and budget with the Operations Team for all video-related freelancers (videographers, editors, producers);
- Ensure all projects are on schedule;
- Identify best practices for filming and improve daily operations as necessary;
- Oversee footage collection to ensure all media is archived appropriately and can be easily obtained by editors and producers;
- Participating in collaborative process of coming up with creative ideas for videos and issue campaigns;
- Communicate and collaborate with More Perfect Union coworkers;
- Attend weekly meetings with video team;
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 2 years or more of Video Production Manager or relevant professional experience;
- Requires a seasoned professional possessing specialized technical knowledge and experience in media production operations;
- Must possess extensive knowledge and use of video production equipment and techniques (cameras and camera angles, lenses, audio, lighting) and be able to make suggestions and/or decisions with regard to equipment, as needed for shoots;
- Must possess knowledge of shooting and editing videos;
- Excellent organization, planning, collaboration, and communication skills;
- Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro is a plus;
- Experience with Monday is a plus;
- Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously and meet deadlines;
- Ability to work independently;
- Ability to work in a team environment;
- Ability to anticipate the needs of producers, editors and videographers;
- Very detail oriented;
- Ability to operate in a nimble environment;
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and potentially holidays as required.
