About Topaz Labs Video AI
Video AI is our flagship product for video editing & enhancement with machine learning. Using our in-house trained ML models, videographers & cinematographers can achieve stunning results upscaling videos to 4K and 8K, interpolating to 60-120fps, generating slow-mo reels, denoising and more.
Some of the industry's leading filmographers trust us with their work, including teams at IMAX, Warner Bros., Industrial Light & Magic and NBC Universal. About the role
As our Lead Engineer for Video AI, you'll be leading product engineering for a growing team of engineers dedicated to the Video AI app experience. This is a code-heavy role to start out with, with the opportunity to scale over time. This role requires a strong understanding of product and user experience, paired with strong general technical capability. Video processing experience is not required, but you must be up to the challenge of diving deep into the technology and provide exponential value as your knowledge increases.
About you
5+ years professional development experienceHigh aptitude for computer programming, with a proven track record of effectiveness and ability to learn new technologiesKnowledgeable with application and system architecture, UI, networking and performance optimizationEye for design, a strong sense of user experience and a high level of craftsmanshipHigh level of experience working on consumer-facing products, writing both UI & business/backend logicPast project management or leadership experiencePreferred
Exposure to image or video encoding/decoding and file formatsExperience developing native applications for Windows / MacOSExperiencing deploying ML models in production environmentsSome history working with applications involving video or live streamingLove
Experience developing native applications for Windows / MacOSKnowledge of image or video encoding/decoding and file formatsHistory working with applications involving video or live streamingExperience deploying ML models in production environmentsAny video related experience including filming, video editing, or even photographyExposure to low-level multimedia frameworks such as ffmpeg or GStreamer

This is a unique role for someone interested in making a deep impact at a high-growth tech software company. We offer strong base salary, plus significant ownership that scales with the company's growth. We also offer 100% covered medical/dental/vision for employees, 15 days annual PTO plus holidays, and 401k matching. This is a full-time onsite role in Dallas, TX, and we will ask you to relocate if you're not in the area
