The Raytheon Industry 4.0 IIoT & Digital Factory team is seeking an experienced Principal User Interface User Experience (UI/UX) Software Developer in support of our IIoT & Digital Factory Systems.
Candidate will be responsible for leading the User Interface and Experience of I4.0 technologies at Raytheon factories. The ideal candidate should have clean and artful designs, possess superior UI skills and be able to translate high-level requirements into interaction flows and artifacts, and transform them into modern, intuitive, and functional user interfaces.
This position is Hybrid with optional locations at: North Texas, Tucson, AZ, Andover, MA
Primary Responsibilities:
Collaborate with project managers and backend developers to define and implement innovative solutions for the product’s direction, visuals and user experience
Design and develop user interfaces for web and mobile applications
Execute all visual design stages from concept to final acceptance testing
Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design roadblocks
Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas and gather feedback from stakeholders
Present designs and key milestone deliverables across multiple levels in the organization (from peers to executive level stakeholders)
Conduct user research to identify areas of improvement and optimize user experience
Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards
Must be willing and able to travel 5% to 10% of the time
Required Basic Qualifications:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations
8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
UI/UX experience
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued DOD Secret
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Desired Qualifications:
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
Demonstrable UI design skills with a strong portfolio
Demonstrated experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps
Proficiency in Ignition, or other visual design and wire-framing tools
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, Python and JavaScript for rapid prototyping.
Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction
Ability to present your designs and sell Industry 4.0 solutions to various stakeholders.
Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
Up-to-date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies
Continuous improvement mindset
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
