Job Details
UTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design plumbing systems including domestic water, sanitary, storm, natural gas, lab/medical, gas/vacuum, specialized waste systems, and performance-spec fire protection in all sizes of commercial buildings with direction from senior staffPerform pressure loss, pump head, roof drain, fixture unit, water heater, and all other necessary calculations to support system designFollow direction from senior staff, follow design standards, and coordinate work efforts with multi-disciplinary engineering teamsWork with project managers to complete projects on schedule and within budgetAttend design meetingsAssist in construction site visits and field surveys to verify code compliance, construction progress, and as-built conditionsRecord meeting minutes and create site observation reports
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
Proficient in design, and production of construction documents (plans, and calculations for a variety of building projects, specifications, and cost estimates, preferred)Construction administration experience (RFIs, submittal reviews, site visits, and change order reviews, preferred)Must have the ability to interact and perform as part of a teamExcellent organizational and communication skillsExperience in commercial, education, laboratory, and healthcare design, preferredWorking knowledge of building and plumbing codes, including NFPA standardsDetailed knowledge of fixtures and equipment from various manufacturers and the ability to make proper selections independentlyCertified Plumbing Designer (CPD) Certification, preferred
TECHNOLOGY/COMPUTER EXPERIENCE:
Working Knowledge in MS Office 10 Pro (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, OneNote)Must be proficient in Revit, and AutoCADWorking knowledge of BIM Collaborate Pro (formerly BIM 360), preferredWorking knowledge of Bluebeam, preferredWorking knowledge in the use of standard office equipment (e.g., copiers, business, and telephone systems)
EDUCATION:
Associates Degree, preferredTechnical program degree in Mechanical Design, preferred
EXPERIENCE:
2+ years of recent experience in plumbing design for commercial structures with an A/E or MEP firm, preferred
