Duties and Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
Maintain security, framework, and plugin updates for gardner-webb.eduOwn feature requests through inception, design feedback, implementation, and launch; look for ways to optimize performance.Researches, modifies and creates website and web page contentReviews content for accuracy and quality of informationProvides input on how best to translate copy and graphics direction from other media to the websiteEnforce graphic and content standards to maintain the appearance and structure of the website per specified brand guidelinesMaintains competitive analysis of other sites and advises on opportunities for further enhancement and development of web pagesTroubleshoots potential marketing and web page problemsIntegrate third-party applications, marketing pixels, scripts, etc. as necessaryKeep current on trends and evolution in web development, accessibility, and standards.Assists with optimizing landing pages and updating web code to improve website position.Demonstrate flexibility and adjust priorities to respond to pressing and changing needs of stakeholders; ensure projects are completed on schedule.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university as well as three to five years related experience OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved. Work in a non-profit or higher education setting is preferred but not required.
Specific requirements include:
Demonstrated proficiency in WordPress CMS PlatformProficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, MySQL, and ASP.netKnowledge of responsive design techniques and WCAG 2.1/digital accessibility best practicesExperience designing, developing, and implementing search engine solutionsDemonstrated proficiency of UI/UX best practicesUnderstanding of best practices for migrating between DEV, QA, and PROD environmentsDemonstrated competence in Adobe Creative SuiteAbility to work independently, solve problems, make decisions and clearlyexplain one’s thinking and rationaleClient-facing communication skills; can present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiencesAbility to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and to pursue multiple projects simultaneouslyProfessionalism and ability to deliver and receive constructive critical feedbackFamiliarity with SEO best practices as well as web analytics tools and applicationsExperience with Qualtrics or similar online survey toolKnowledge of the principles and practices of marketingSkill in effective written and verbal communicationsAbility to work in a collaborative multi-disciplinary teamSkill in critical thinking and strong attention to detail
