Duties
The United States Space Force (USSF) at Peterson Space Force Base (CO) is searching for a Telecommunications Specialist for DEL 8 (NH-0391-03, GS12 /13 equivalent).
Description:
- Serves as a member of the Protected Band Consolidated SATCOM Systems Expert (C-SSE) Operations Branch. The position is responsible for operations, planning and sustainment of Protected Band SATCOM.
- Performs satellite payload management, network management, and telecommunications systems management for the Protected Band SATCOM enterprise, as well as, providing 24/7 356 days operational support.
- Conducts studies involving both long-range and short-range plans involving the control aspect of satellite communications.
- Performs trend analyses for Protected Band SATCOM terminals and satellite segments to determine technical supportability.
- Performs complex and comprehensive analysis and uses systematic, disciplined, and quantifiable approaches to implement, develop, and document projects.
- Analyzes technical work of Protected Band satellite payloads and ground station architectures.
- Develops and maintains effective relationships and to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, including writing plans and technical documents, requirements, procedures, and technical analyses.
- Organizes work, sets priorities, and determines resource requirements; determines goals and strategies to achieve them; coordinates with other organizations; monitor progress, and evaluate outcomes
- Conducts analysis of various systems, relationships, and models, i.e., evaluating and/or redefining the impact of new capabilities on current systems and policies.
- Identifies problems and uses sound judgment and decisions to generate and evaluate alternatives and make recommendations.
Ideal Candidate:
- Strong understanding and expertise in Satellite Operations, Space Force/Department of the Air Force; and planning, programming, budget, and execution processes.
- Experience working with and interfacing with senior leaders.
- Ability to organize work, set priorities; determine goals and strategies to achieve them; coordinate with other organizations; monitor progress and evaluate outcomes.

U.S. Citizenship RequiredThis position is eligible for telework 2-4 days a pay period.PCS/Relocation funding is available.Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret /SCI security clearance.Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing.May be required travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.Qualifications
