SUMMARY:
A social "mediaholic" who loves creating engaging posts using stories, pictures, and videos for Braille Works audience. Writing passionate pieces that help others understand the importance of increased social awareness. A "people-person" who enjoys interacting with a team while staying on top of your To-Do List. This position will start as a collaborative effort and responsibilities will grow over time. It's important for the person in this position to stay up to date on the latest news affecting the blind and visually impaired community to share with our audience. You should be a self-starter (have enough skills to work independently) and also be willing to learn more through personal training, online courses and certification classes. The willingness to learn, grow and be flexible is most helpful. Responsible for sourcing new opportunities for Braille Works via social networks and team effort marketing campaigns. Converting opportunities to sales leads. Experience with B2B marketing is preferred.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Content creation
Create positive and informative content for both our website and social media accounts
Consistently work on website content creation using SEO and online accessibility best practices
Contribute content to both the internal and external company newsletters
Manage social media accounts
Curate relevant stories to post across social media platforms
Interact with our social media audience
Promote and protect our brand with fun, but professional, engagement
Brainstorm, research, and share new ideas or strategies that we can do to increase our social media engagement and audience
Develop content calendars for Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, X, and others
Blogging
Brainstorm, research, and share new ideas for blog posts
Create or refresh at least one new blog per month in line with our blogging schedule
Assist in editing at least 3 blogs per month
Implement strategic blogging using SEO and accessibility best practices that's coordinated with social media and other campaigns
Media
Create graphics for social media that correspond to our blogs
Create short videos following SEO and accessibility best practices
Take pictures and video of Braille Works employees and events to share on social media and our website
QUALIFICATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Computer Skills: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and Outlook
Social Media experience: Advanced LinkedIn tools/options, Facebook and X (with an understanding of the application of the tool towards business marketing) and Instagram
Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Researching new business opportunities
Passion for and experience with social media platforms and tools
Content creation
Media creation - Photoshop Elements or equivalent
Understanding of SEO best practices
Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills
Understanding of Inbound Marketing methodology, a plus
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
