Job Profile Summary
?This role focuses on using various imaging techniques and practices to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. In addition, this role focuses on performing the following Imaging Services duties: Assists with technology support and management of imaging services provided at the organization. A clinical technologist role that has specialized knowledge or skills gained through a combination of vocational education, training, and experience. This role will be most commonly applied to patient care and/or scientific/laboratory jobs. A senior level role requiring broad knowledge of operational procedures and tools obtained through extensive work experience and requiring vocational or technical education. Works under limited supervision for routine situations, problems typically are not routine and require analysis to understand, provides assistance and/or may lead and train entry level employees and may lead daily operation activities.
Hours: Per Diem, Day shifts between Monday-Friday
Location: Main Campus
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Associate’s degree in Radiologic Science.
2. Radiologic Technologist License.
3. American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS).
4. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
5. Ten (10) years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Science.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature of work and are not intended to be an all-inclusive list. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
1. Obtains and documents patient history related to procedures; provides clear and accurate instructions and explanation of exams and procedures to patients to improve patient satisfaction and the quality of the US exam being performed.
2. Monitors the daily patient schedule to direct and optimize staff efficiency and productivity to streamline completion of daily workload.
3. Assists Manager in daily QA and QI processes and participates in department performance improvement activities. Instructs staff in proper QA/QI.
4. Collaborates with the radiologists to identify areas for improvement and communicate and implement those with staff.
5. Demonstrates competency and accuracy in the use of all aspects of the RIS, Trace and PACS systems and required IT applications.
6. Documents all measurements and other key clinical information on worksheets and/or PACS.
7. Assists in daily PACS maintenance correcting, merging, linking and assuring the quality and completeness of all studies.
8. Identifies errors and facilitates corrective measures in a timely manner.
9. Communicates completely and in a timely manner with co-workers and other modalities and departments to assure timely, coordinated patient care.
10. Serves as a role model to all staff sharing expertise and knowledge, assists Manager as directed.
11. Performs orientation of new clinical personnel to the department providing daily guidance and instruction to staff and students.
12. Consults with radiologists providing technical interpretation of diagnostic ultrasound images, informs the radiologists of any abnormalities and or critical results as identified to assess exam completeness.
