Job SummaryThe position Senior Mechanical Designer will contribute in new and existing product development by designing sheet metal assemblies in collaboration with R&D Technical Product engineers using latest toolsets and industry leading best practices.. The candidate must have high level of SolidWorks experience and deep understanding of mechanical design for manufacturing.
Responsibilities• Support technical product engineer in the development of new and existing products and/or technologies within the Munters Product Development (MPD) process.• Design new products and improve existing products within the Munters Product Development (MPD) process utilizing SolidWorks and Munters Design Standards.• Design for manufacturing standardization/modularization/automation and incorporate lean principles in the design of the product• Work with the manufacturing group to ensure designs can be manufactured with current manufacturing processes• Construct and manage BOMs associated with mechanical designs• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.• Follow ISO procedures to ensure consistent and documented product release
Experience
Associates degree in Mechanical Design is highly desired• 5-7+ years of SolidWorks mechanical design experience• Certified SolidWorks Expert certification is preferred but not required• Experience with integrated CAD modeling• Understanding of sheet metal design required• The ability to design within configuration based models using design tables• The ability to work within ePDM• Knowledge of industrial/commercial HVAC components, functions, controls, design and development (dehumidification and air handling unit design experience a bonus) a plus• In-depth understanding of how to design for standardization/modularization• Strong mathematical and mechanical aptitude• Strong organizational skills• PC skills including Word and Excel
