- Serve as a Co-Investigator on a Biomedical Lab Research and Development (BLR&D) funded research program focused on investigating spinal targets for persistent bladder pain.
- Investigate novel MIF-modulated spinal protein targets associated with persistent BHA and determine spinal protein changes mediated by specific receptors in persistent BHA
- The job is supporting by a 4-year VA Merit grant application (to the Principal Investigator). Work involves performing a variety of research methods to determine pain levels in awake animals, animal surgery in anesthetized animals, specimen collection and processing for further analysis and testing.
- Excellent networking opportunity with affiliation to the University of Kentucky. Expected to write results and publish in scientific journals and present findings at scientific meetings.
PhD (required); Post-doctoral experience in pain/bladder pain and/or neurourology; previous experience with immunohistochemistry, RT-PCR, general histology, handling animal colonies preferred.
