Overview
We are looking for a Researcher and Writer to join our Consumer Lifestyle team. This role will focus on technology trends, covering topics including artificial intelligence, consumer electronics, mobility and more. You’ll investigate how technology intersects with larger concerns, such as wellness, sustainability and inclusivity.
The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic researcher with strong writing skills, deep cultural curiosity, and the desire to get under the skin of a broad range of brand and consumer-related subjects. This position is open to candidates already based in either London or New York.
We’ll frequently ask you to:
- Write short-form articles about trending topics in technology
- Communicate with a hybrid global team (based in New York & London)
- Contribute research to long-form articles
- Upload articles to our proprietary CMS, including image sourcing
- Pitch ideas for short-form articles
- Think strategically about how technology trends shape commercial opportunities and consumer behaviours
- Read newsletters, collate research and discuss findings with the wider team
- Work in-person on key dates
We’ll sometimes ask you to:
- Attend industry trade shows and conferences to learn about emerging trends (occasionally involving travel)
- Interview industry experts for long-form articles (frequently remote, occasionally in-person)
- Represent Stylus at in-person events
You’ll be successful in this role if you:
- Have strong writing skills and are eager to experiment with short- and long-form articles
- Possess a keen interest in technology and exploring how it shapes and guides consumer trends
- Can digest complex topics and explain them succinctly and clearly to a mass audience
- Can quickly learn our company style guide and adapt your writing accordingly
- Want to engage in deep, analytical thinking about complex topics and their future impacts
- Are deeply curious about the future
- Are comfortable working in a hybrid capacity
