Advertising Production Controller

Purpose of the Role  

You will be working as part of a team that manages the production of a variety of commercial products including Display, Classified and Sponsorship advertising for a wide range of journals and supplements. The role involves checking the quality of digital artwork, trafficking advertising copy, typesetting and layout of advertising products.

* Copy chase and advise advertisers on copy preparation to ensure that the files received are to industry standards
* Manage incoming ad traffic and checking digital files to ensure they are within specification
* Maintain good relationships with external and internal clients including production departments in London, New York and Japan to ensure a smooth flow of advertising copy
* Ensure advert positions are correct, based on information from the advertising database, advertising sales and their clients
* Maintain concise database records of advert bookings
* To provide holiday and sickness cover for other Advertising Production Controllers
* Assist the Advertising Production Manager in implementing new systems and controls as required
* Related admin duties (file curation, meeting administration, archiving, etc.)
* Such other tasks as the company may assign from time to time
* Create and update layouts for advertisements and advertorials
* Adhoc duties as needed

Qualification requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
* Demonstrated ability to achieve weekly/monthly deadlines
* A mature and flexible attitude
* Experienced InDesign and Acrobat Pro user
* Experience with preflighting tools such as Enfocus PitStop
* Strong Mac skills
* Computer literate with intermediate knowledge of GSuite  
* Ability to prioritize own workload and manage time efficiently
* Planning and organization skills
* Collaboration and communication skills

* Flexibility and adaptability
* Ability to work individually and as part of a team
* Broad interest in production and publishing
* Print and/or web publishing experience
* Good understanding of the print production process
* Proven track record of dealing with external customers
