Static Media is looking for enthusiastic, hard-working freelance editors to join the feature and news teams of The List and Mashed. The List is Static Media's women's lifestyle site, and Mashed is our food and grocery site. 

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years of experience working with content for print or the web with a focus on:

  • Women's lifestyle, celebs, royals, reality TV, and health and wellness content similar to The List.
  • Restaurants, cooking, fast food, and grocery shopping content similar to Mashed.

We are looking for creative individuals who are self-sufficient and versatile. These positions are work-from-home with flexible, stable hours. Location does not matter.

About Static Media

Static Media delivers engaging content across a broad spectrum of topics. Tackling blockbuster movies, the year's best new styles, the secrets of the universe, and everything in between, Static Media's content never stands still.

Editor Responsibilities:

  • Claim editing assignments from a large selection on our Trello board
  • Edit and publish assignments quickly and efficiently, with a healthy balance between high quality and speed
  • Fact check submissions to ensure accuracy according to included sources
  • Provide detailed and critical feedback to freelance writers in need of guidance on how to improve their submissions
  • Work with our content strategy team on crafting article ideas and areas of coverage when necessary
  • Compensation: Paid per hour
  • Extra consideration will be given to applicants able to work night and weekend news shifts.

Experience:

Minimum three years editorial experience writing and editing. Experience with building content in a CMS, preferably WordPress.
