/Film is looking for enthusiastic, hard-working freelance writers with deep knowledge about TV procedurals (like the Law and Order franchise, NCIS, Criminal Minds, One Chicago universe) to join our writing team.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of experience writing content for print or the web with a focus on movie, television, and entertainment industry content similar to /Film and are mega-fans of popular TV procedurals like the ones listed above. In general, we are looking for creative individuals who are self-sufficient, versatile, well-versed in both contemporary pop culture and film and TV history, and who have a strong critical perspective and unique voice. We don't just want writers; we want writers with something to say. These positions are work-from-home with flexible, stable hours. Location does not matter.

Writer Responsibilities:

  • Claim article topics from a large selection of assignments
  • Research, pitch, and write articles in custom CMS with a one-week to one-day turnaround, depending on the topic and timeliness of the article
  • Contribute to and follow the guidelines of our style guide, editorial strategy and publishing standards to uphold quality of content
  • Compensation: Paid per word or hourly

Experience:

Minimum one year of editorial experience writing and editing. Experience with building content in a CMS.
