What You’ll Do:

As Communications Associate, you will have the opportunity to join a mission-based, educational organization at a time of rapid growth. In this new role, your primary impact will be enhancing the overarching executive communications plan to help grow the presence of Zearn leadership and its vision that all kids are math kids. You will report directly to our Director of Communications, engage with executive leadership and collaborate with our Community and Marketing teams in developing engaging content for official channels, which include Twitter, LinkedIn and Slack.

Specifically, you will:

●Establish and maintain a robust editorial calendar

○develop weekly and monthly plans for review by marketing/communications leadership

○research market trends and utilize key organizational milestones to develop content ideas

●Draft and post all content for official, executive accounts on Twitter and LinkedIn on behalf of the Zearn executives including the Chief Executive Officer

○Utilize official messaging, organizational communications (press releases, research briefs and white papers) and earned media coverage to craft content and respond to key events, trends, and happenings in the field for Twitter and LinkedIn

○Draft key organizational announcements/news for Slack on behalf of Zearn leadership

○Create social media toolkits for Zearn research initiatives through collaboration with marketing and in-house design teams

●Moderate, listen and engage with key influencers including educators, policy makers, system leaders, partners and funders

○Continue to identify key individuals and organizations to engage with and follow with an eye towards common

●Manage a library of biographies, photos and key speaking examples for executive leadership

●Support other executive communications projects as assigned

What You’ll Bring To The Role:

●A Bachelor’s degree in a related field

●A minimum of two years’ experience working as a member of a communications team (ideally in education or nonprofit)

●A keen interest and understanding of voice and tone and how to elevate core organizational messaging through leaders

●The ability to write clean and concise copy while meeting multiple daily deadlines is a must.

●A sharp eye for detail while crafting engaging content with an eye for grammar, length and accuracy

●Experience with tools like Hootsuite, Canva, and other social-media-focused software

●A passion for learning and innovation

●An interest in social change, corporate social responsibility, mission and advocacy, as well as in Zearn’s specific goal of making math accessible to all kids

●The willingness to comply with Zearn's vaccination (subject to legally valid exemptions) and Personal Protective Equipment policies.


This role is remote, but you may be asked to travel as needed for business or for team building purposes.
