ResponsibilitiesThe Director of Sales will understand Hotel operations including room types, meeting capacities, service and featuresCreate and execute an annual marketing plan addressing sales strategy and budget goals.Responsible for planning and implementing sales efforts for all short and long-range goalsSet sales strategies to achieve overall property goals for both rate and occupancyWork closely with Hotel GM to assist in capturing group business in all segments including corporate, SMERF, and transient businessProactive solicitation of new business to achieve revenue goalsTarget accounts, markets, or segments with proactive solicitation and account saturationThe Director of Sales will participate in local networking organizations, community, and industry events while representing the Hotels in a professional mannerStrive for consistent improvement Guest Satisfaction scores to meet or exceed industry standardsDeveloping and maintaining good relationships with officials and representatives of local community groups, companies, and trade organizations.Monitoring sales activities to ensure that contracts and proposals are sent by sales associates and followed up in a timely manner.Ensure hotel participation in all brand revenue management initiatives.Lead property revenue meetings always ensuring revenue maximization and profit in all areas.Timely submission of required reports to General Manager, and Corporate Office.Other duties as assigned.Job Requirements
QualificationsMarriott and Hilton experience preferredMulti property oversight preferredDirector of Sales candidates require strong leadership skillsSeasoned sales skillsSolid written and verbal English communication skills to effectively negotiate, persuade, influence, and sell full service and focus service brands are required.Well organized and detail-orientedAbility to work independentlyDisplay initiative, perseverance, and analytical skillsProfessional and ethicalQuick learner and hard workerTeam player and ability to get along with othersPossess a valid driver's license and be able to drive to customer appointments.
JOB SKILLSComputer skills to include word processing, spreadsheet, and familiarity with brand specific propertyManagement System(s).Ability to exercise excellent communication, presentation, organization, time management, and listening skills.Ability to use analytical skills for measuring business potential and value to the hotel.Ability to successfully interact with all levels of customers and hotel management.
