Job Description

JOB FUNCTION/PURPOSE:

Beacon Communications, LLC is seeking a motivated Audio-Visual Service Technician to join our dynamic service team. This role focuses on troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing commercial AV systems. The salary range for this position is $30.00 - $37.50/hour, depending on factors such as education and experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Diagnose and resolve AV system issues in conference rooms, boardrooms, classrooms, and public spaces.
• Perform on-site service calls and preventive maintenance according to service level agreements.
• Troubleshoot AV components including DSPs, matrix switchers, touch panels, control processors, displays, projectors, and video conferencing systems.
• Document service activities, resolutions, and client interactions in the ticketing system.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to identify root causes and implement long-term solutions.
• Maintain a clean and organized service vehicle and inventory of parts and tools.
• Assist with basic programming adjustments and firmware updates.
• Support customer training on AV system functionality and usability.
• Adhere to safety standards, site protocols, and manufacturer guidelines.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

• 2+ years of experience servicing commercial AV systems.
• Familiarity with AV technologies such as Crestron, Biamp, Extron, QSC, Shure, etc.
• Strong understanding of signal flow, wiring standards, and device configuration.
• Ability to read and interpret AV system drawings and schematics.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Pass background check.

Preferred:

• CTS or CTS-I certification (or willingness to obtain within 12 months).
• Experience with ticketing platforms (e.g., VISTA or similar).
