*Classification:* Full-Time, Salaried, Non-Exempt
*Reports To:* Office Administrator
*Salary/Benefits: *The salary is commensurate with experience and expertise.
*Hours: +/- *40 hours per week / Generally Monday through Thursday (9-5:00pm), Sunday mornings 8:00-12:00pm, plus special events.
*Purpose: *Under the supervision of the Office Administrator, and in accordance with the goals and objectives of the Senior Pastor and the Church Council at Wesley Church at Frederica, the Director of Communications supports the mission and vision of the church by building and maintaining effective communication strategies to our congregation and community.

*Requirements:*
· Skills, Attributes, Education, Experience
o Must be 18 years of age or older
o Familiarity with general office procedures either through formal training or equivalent experience
o Previous work experience in an office environment
o Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe InDesign and Photoshop
o Excellent organizational and communication skills (face-to-face verbal and written), including working closely with and verbally communicating with church members and staff members
o Superior interpersonal skills, friendly but professional demeanor, positive attitude
o Ability to multi-task and meet changing deadlines
o Excellent composition, proofreading, and editing skills
o Works well as a team player
o Self-motivated; completes complex administrative tasks with minimal supervision
o Dependable, trustworthy, maintains a high level of confidentiality and discretion
o Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
o Additional training, education, and experience as determined by direct report or the HR Committee
o Excellent moral character, dependable, trustworthy, maintains a high level of confidentiality/discretion
o Excellent organizational and communication skills (face-to-face verbal and written), including working closely with ministry staff
o Ability to multi-task and adapt to the diverse situations
o Works well as a team player, shows respect for authority and co-workers
o Must be willing to work in support of the mission and vision of the church
· Mental - Requires a high degree of attention to detail and concentration to perform administrative responsibilities and focus on complex organizational tasks.
· Physical - Must have the ability to:
o Lift up to 40lbs
o Perform walking, standing, forward bending, stooping, crouching (e.g., to navigate the building, access files & supplies)
· Manual Dexterity - For lifting, operating office equipment, recording written information
· Audible Demands - To detect and discern verbal instructions and communicate with others in-person and via telephone
· Visual Demands - To examine written instructions, communications, and other documents; operate equipment
· Environmental - Work within a Church office environment (lighting and climate controlled)
· Maintain knowledge of and compliance with all provisions set forth in the Wesley Employee Policy Handbook, including, but not limited to: policies, rules and regulations, the Safe Sanctuaries Policy, the Code of Conduct, and the Code of Ethics
· Consent to a criminal background check in compliance with the Wesley Safe Sanctuaries policy and have no record of criminal conduct that would diminish suitability to perform the job
Responsibilities:
· Print Media
o Design and organize an annual report telling the story of impact at Wesley
o Support church staff with layout, design and print material as needed
o Management of weekly Church Bulletin
* Weekly & as needed for events
* Editing, layout, proofing, printing
* Bulletin Inserts (designing and stuffing)
* For both 8:00/9:00/11:00am services
* Keeping records of the bulletin and provides copies to staff
* Prepares programs for funerals, concerts, and additional services.
· Social Media Management and digital content
o Oversee our online brand presence - Facebook, Instagram, Google, etc.
o Ensure YouTube livestream and videos are updated weekly, keeping overall design & branding. Creates YouTube livestream slides and thumbnails.
o Maintain a calendar and schedule for posts in alignment with church calendar
o Creating, proofing, and managing all content of posts
o Improving overall online presence and channel growth.
o Design and oversee social media ad campaigns
o Responding appropriately to audiences/engaging audiences
o Cast a vision for future digital outreach expansion to possibly include podcast or other media
· Management of Website
o Update homepage and events section as needed, update sermon section weekly, update other pages as needed.
o Oversees changes, additions, content, and branding
o Work with 3rd party vendor for more technical developments or upgrades of website.
· Management of email campaigns
o Weekly emailers on Thursday at 5:30pm - The Wesley Weekly
o Design the content of (weekly updating) Management of Printed Promotions (including, not limited to:) Brochures, Wedding packet, Merch designs, Booklets/Pamphlets: Prepare and print as needed, Posters, Postcards, Stickers, Bulletin inserts, Pledge cards, Signage (indoor and outdoor), Business cards
o Ensure proper drip campaigns are in place for first time visitors and other cohorts as needed.
· Management of Community Advertisements (including, not limited to)
o Newspaper (Brunswick News) free ads
o Social Media ads
o Overseeing that all promotional materials (printed and digital) reflect Wesley's code of branding
· Church Management Database - Elexio
o Oversees Mobile App, Mass Texting, and Online Forms
· Photography for promotional materials
o Takes pictures or ensures professional photography and/or videography is in place for the purpose of promotional materials.
· Other Administrative duties
o Assist with front office management as directed by the Office Administrator
