About the Role

We’re BuzzWire Media and PodLab Studios — two creative brands making noise in Metro Detroit. We’re hiring a Graphic Designer who’s also confident juggling light admin, content, and client tasks.

This role is hands-on, creative, and evolving. You’ll design branding for real businesses, work with local creators, support in-studio productions, and help grow our in-house marketing.

If you’re a designer first — but also flexible, organized, and have sharp instincts — this is your playground.

Workload Breakdown (Estimated)

55% – Graphic Design & Content Creation (logos, decks, social, flyers, brand assets)

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

Has 1+ years of professional design experience (not just passion projects)

Is fluent in Adobe Illustrator — this is non-negotiable

Understands typography, layout, branding systems, and visual identity

Can work in Photoshop, InDesign, and other Creative Cloud tools

Manages content via Later, Hootsuite, or Buffer

Can communicate clearly with clients, in person and online

Bonus: Shopify, WordPress, or light video editing skills are a plus

Your portfolio is mainly anime, hand-drawn cartoons, or 3D animation

You don’t understand traditional graphic design principles (typography, grid systems, brand consistency)

You’re entirely “self-taught” without client-ready branding examples

You aren’t fluent in Adobe Illustrator

You’re looking for remote work — this is an on-site position in Westland, MI

Starting Pay: $19–$23/hour

Growth Path: Up to $26–$28/hour within 12–18 months as Lead Designer

Hours: 20–30/week to start (flexible weekday shifts, no weekends)

Location: On-site only — Westland, MI
