https://bonneville.com/Position OverviewSactown Sports has a rare opening, we are looking for an experienced Radio Producer/Assistant Program Director (APD). As the Producer, you will assist in producing entertaining and compelling programming that informs, engages, and entertains sports fans on broadcast, digital, and social platforms for Sactown Sports. As an APD, you will be responsible for creating and preparing original and creative content for both the on-air product and our digital platforms. The ideal candidate for this challenging role must have the ability to coach, be coached, and fill-in when needed on-air and/or behind the scenes. The APD will assist the Program Director with Station branding, imaging, and operations consistent with the Company’s Core Values and Mission, as well as complying with FCC rules and regulations.Note:
Work configurations are subject to change based on business needs and at company discretion.This position is an onsite role that requires the employee to regularly work at our Sacramento office location.What You Will Do:Primary job duties will include, but are not limited to:Plan, prepare, produce & execute content in an entertaining and professional manner in a style consistent with the standards of performance as established by the Program DirectorExecute producing live and local content via on-air and digital platformsFind, evaluate, and research sports stories daily and pitch ideasMaintain & monitor Station’s live YouTube streamsMaintain daily log through the use of Zetta with approval of station clock from Program DirectorWork directly with Program Director on Station imaging which includes but is not limited to benchmark segments, promos, show intros, rejoiners, and legal ID’sManage and aid in the development of part-time staff and weekend/fill-in talentOversee weekend & holiday scheduling of station operationsAbility to coach and help improve the capabilities of on-air talent, producers, and board operatorsBook guests and manage show contacts to maximize station content and Sactown Sports digital reachFill-in as an on-air talent when needed at Program Director’s discretionAct as a liaison with sales, traffic, and digital departments to ensure station goals are metHelp administer contests and answer listener phone calls, including screening listener calls for live showsRunning the control boardSkills and Experience We Are Looking For:1-3 years talk show producer experience or equivalentExperience analyzing audience data and identifying behavioral trendsStrong knowledge of local sports teams, preferably Sacramento Kings, San Francisco 49ers and GiantsPassion and vision for emerging mediaStrong working knowledge of the audio equipment necessary for on-air broadcastsKnowledge of studio equipment and transmitter remote control operationWorking knowledge of Zetta (direct experience with Zetta is a plus), or other radio traffic softwareGeneral knowledge of PPM Analysis (direct experience with PPM Analysis is a plus)Experience with Adobe Audition or similar audio editing softwareExperience booking show guestsExperience conducting live interviewsDesign, photo, and video editing skillsAbility to be coached and willingness to grow within the roleStrong organizational and communication skillsAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesCapable of managing multiple projects and teams on an on-going basisCreative and strategic problem solverAble to tailor programming content for a variety of platformsStrong understanding of the current digital and social media landscape, including creating content for Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and other platforms, best practices, success metrics and emerging platformsPhysical DemandsReceive, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication effectively.Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to operate computer keys and general office equipment.
