Position: UI/UX Design Co-op
Please note: This position is based in Cincinnati, OH, with a hybrid schedule requiring three days per week in the office.
The UI/UX Design Co-op contributes directly to the visual and functional quality of our platform. Working alongside senior designers and cross-functional teams, this role supports the full design lifecycle - from concept to implementation. It offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced startup environment, providing exposure to product, marketing, and operational initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Customer Experience teams to design user-centric interfaces.
- Create wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs using Figma.
- Contribute to and maintain the company’s design system to ensure brand and UI consistency.
- Translate complex workflows and data sets into clear, usable visual solutions.
- Assist with preparation of design documentation for smooth engineering hand-offs.
- Support cross-functional efforts by developing graphics and visual assets for marketing, internal communications, and operations.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Design, HCI, or a related field.
- Eligible for co-op or internship placement.
Skills And Competencies
- Strong portfolio demonstrating UI/UX or product design work (academic, personal, or professional).
- Proficiency in Figma; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.).
- Understanding of design fundamentals, including typography, color, layout, and interaction design.
- Strong interest in simplifying complex problems through intuitive design.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Self-motivated with a solution-oriented mindset.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience working with or contributing to design systems.
- Familiarity with enterprise software, SaaS platforms, or data visualization tools.
- Knowledge of motion design tools (e.g., After Effects) or other Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
- Basic understanding of HTML/CSS or front-end development concepts.
