ResponsibilitiesDevelop engaging and creative content for and manage daily operations for multiple digital employee communications channelsMaintain and update corporate materials and web content, such as Workday resources, About ASCO references, ASCO.org leadership pages, internal presentations, and boilerplates; and communicate changes to internal stakeholders on a timely and efficient basisServe as a strategic communications lead for internal/support service departments, including Finance, Facilities, IT, and Human Resources, by working with department vice presidents and other colleague to increase awareness of new programs, initiatives, and changesResearch, write, and edit informative and captivating content for both staff and volunteer leadership for multiple internal and external communications channels in support of ASCO prioritiesLead the strategy to develop and disseminate key messaging, emails, FAQs, and other resources as needed to support change management communicationsSupport organizational issues management work and assist department leadership in developing and executing crisis communications plansManage logistics, agenda development, and supporting meeting materials for bi-annual hybrid Cancer Communications Committee meetings; create year-round communications and engagement strategies; serve as primary staff liaison; and manage onboarding processWork with CEO office, Facilities, and Meetings to coordinate communications functions for all-staff meetings, presidential town halls, and employee engagement activities and manage Q&A portions of all meetingsManage Corporate Communications budget by tracking and monitoring expenses and developing annual budgetRequired Education and ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field5+ years of relevant corporate communications experience (e.g., public relations, internal communications, etc.) with increasing levels of responsibilityStrong project management experience, leading multiple initiatives from start to completionProficiency in Microsoft Office and social media platformsPreferred Education and ExperienceWorking knowledge of Microsoft Teams and SharePointBudget management experienceExecutive communications or past agency experience a plusCompetenciesExcellent communication skills with the ability to convey messages clearly and conciselyExcellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, as well as the journalistic ability to source stories from employees or other audiencesStrong analytical skills and critical thinking skills with ability to anticipate solutions and next stepsExcellent organizational skills and high attention to detail, with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and deadlinesExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines, prioritize, and multi-taskAbility to foster and build relationships within all levels of the organizationAbility to work well both independently and collaboratively in teamsTechnically savvy and ability to use technology to grow business objectives, and a willingness to adapt to new technologyADA/Physical RequirementsExtended periods seated or standing at a desk.High use of computer and other office technology equipment.Travel8-10 days/yr.Generous Benefits Package:Hybrid Work EnvironmentOpen Leave PolicyPaid Family Leave13 Paid Holidays per Calendar YearStaff Appreciation Days401(k): 7.5% Employer ContributionMedical/Dental/VisionEmployee Assistance ProgramFertility and Family FormingHealthcare ConciergeFlexible Spending Account(s)Healthcare Savings AccountDisability and Life InsuranceThe American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer.
