This role will be in control of the vibe, energy, and pace of the event. Energy and enthusiasm on the microphone must be captivating and engaging, as this position will announce every routine as dancers enter the stage, as well as successfully play each routine's pre-assigned music. This role is responsible for operating the audio equipment while seamlessly transitioning between routine music and company-provided filler music. The Audio Operator/Offstage Announcer will work closest with our Backstage Managers to ensure a smooth-running performance order. In this position, there will be interaction with Studio Directors and Teachers, as needed. This position requires exceptional amounts of energy, enthusiasm, and confidence on the microphone. Work Details:Seasonal employment with Journey Dance Competition Tour, January - JuneMust be available for Mandatory Team Training; Virtual - Jan. 9th-11th; In Person - Jan. 16th-18thMust be willing to travel by road or airMust be 18 or olderMust be available from Thursday PM to Sunday PM for travelEvents may require Thursday PM to Monday AM travelTravel from a specified meeting point or airport will be requiredMinimum commitment 6 events or morePaid training, travel, double occupancy lodging, and event mealsAbility to drive is a plusOfficial government ID requiredBackground check required Requirements What Winning Looks Like:Load-in and load-out of production equipment, and set up and break down your stationAnnounce routines from the audio board (no stage time required)Control audio board levels for all channels: microphone, iPad, and laptopFill any dead air of the show with company-provided musicCommunicate with the Backstage Managers to confirm the performance orderCommunicate with Studio Directors and TeachersTroubleshoot any problems that ariseAttend to all other duties assigned by the Event Director(s), as neededSkills Needed to Win:Enthusiastic vocal/announcing skillsExcellent reading and public speaking skills, as well as improvisational skillsStrong audio technical backgroundFamiliarity with live sound level monitoringCapable of sitting for extended periods.
