Group Schumacher has engaged us in the search for an energetic and detail-oriented Director Sales & Marketing for its North American Headquarters in Durant, IA. We are looking for a dynamic self-starter with an entrepreneurial approach to their work. This newly created position shall require a high level of business development activities to gain customers, drive sales, and grow company market share in the Agriculture industry and related markets.
PositionThe Director Sales & Marketing is responsible for delivering sustainable revenue and profit growth and expanding GROUP SCHUMACHER‘s market share and overall corporate value through an assigned sales and marketing team. This role supports GROUP SCHUMACHER in direct sales activities within North America and is part of the Global Sales Team to create and implement a global sales strategy.
The Director Sales & Marketing manages and leads support functions essential to sales force effectiveness and productivity. These include planning, reporting, quota setting and management, sales process optimization, sales job design, sales training, sales program implementation, sales compensation design and administration, and recruiting and selection of sales force talent.
This role will identify and develop new customers and support the customers’ projects from RFQ to serial production while working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the appropriate sales objectives and priorities align with organizational strategies.
The position is based in Durant, IA and will travel to German facilities for training purposes and visits together with the customers.

Objectives and Key ResponsibilitiesSeek and develop new business opportunities with new and existing accounts to generate profitable sales growthIdentify opportunities and anticipate challenges; formulate and execute innovative strategiesInitiate robust “go-to-market” strategies for products, programs and services across multiple market channels, both OEM and AftermarketDevelop and manage new OEM and Aftermarket customer relationshipsLead and develop the Sales and Marketing Team, including sales, technical service, customer service, product management and marketing.Lead the development and execution of Marketing strategies to drive demand, including promotions across print, web, and other media and effective participation in farm shows and eventsBuild productive and lasting relationships with internal and external stakeholdersManage contracts (from NDA to supply contracts) in cooperation with the Legal and relevant business unit managementPrepare quotes and commercial proposals to new and existing customers in close cooperation with other stakeholdersPrepare sales reports and forecasts; coordinate with manufacturing to ensure timely deliveriesActively conduct market development activities and provide input for the further sales strategy in coordination with the Vice President Global Sales & MarketingDirect and support the implementation of corporate initiativesAct as the “voice of the customer/market” in strategic and tactical business planning.Increase the Group Schumacher brand strength and brand awareness across North America, positioning product and service solutions as the agriculture industry’s premium cutting, binding and parts systems.Foster a people-centered culture and collaborative environment that focuses on company values and attracts, motivates, develops and retains key team members
ProfileBachelor’s Degree in technical or business field preferredAt least 3 years prior successful sales management experience, ideally in the agriculture and/or OEM heavy machinery related industryProven track record of new business development in a business-to-business environmentUnderstands customers’ technical requirements to relay such questions and queries to GROUP SCHUMACHER project teamSuperior interpersonal and customer service skills and willing to go the extra mile in customer supportSelf-starter and entrepreneurial individualSelf-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environmentExcellent written and oral communication skills and superior presentation skillsWorking knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPointLocated in Durant, IA and must be able to travel approx. 30% of the timeValid driver’s license requiredGerman and/or Spanish will be a plus but not mandatory
