Plant Expeditor - 6- 12 Month Contract
Leading Global Chemical Manufacturing Plant seeks an experienced
Expeditor
at our Donaldsonville plant. This is a 6-12 Month contract role with a high potential to be extended.
Position Overview
The Expeditor plays a critical role in collaborating with the Procurement and Material Control Team to ensure timely delivery of parts and equipment for plant turnarounds. The Expeditor reports directly to the Procurement and Material Control Manager and will be a proven team collaborator and effective communicator, consistently providing keen attention to detail and validating accuracy for purchase order deliverables.
In this role, you will be responsible for expediting/hotshotting a large volume of orders and keeping detailed notes for tracking purposes. You should have good customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both stakeholders and vendors daily.
Position ResponsibilitiesAbility to assist with execution, proactively identify resources to meet customerexpectations and turnaround demands
Proactively inform Procurement team and/or internal stakeholders of any potential delays in deliveryProven ability to impact and compress delivery schedules as neededWork under deadlines and effectively prioritize internal and external tasksUpdate team on the status of equipment orders and delivery, including delays and any corrective action requiredEffectively manage complex tasks related to process expediting and turnaroundadministration
Responsible for maintaining and creating reports and documentation to include change orders, status reports, and spreadsheets and schedulesTrack purchased materials from time of purchase order to receipt in the fieldMaintain a material tracking spreadsheet with weekly published updates forcommunication with the Site Procurement Manager or Turnaround Team
Review purchase orders for accuracy in materials ordered and contracted costs includedActively participate in team meetings, weekly reviews, and design review meetingsSalary
$24-28/hr plus overtime payBenefits plans offered through Lofton StaffingRequirements:Position Requirements
High School diploma required, degree in business or technical field a plusMust have 2+ years of purchasing experience in manufacturing/industrial procurementMust have 2+ years project expediting and administrative project management experienceUnderstanding of manufacturing and supply chain processesUnderstanding of milestone progress schedulesThorough understanding of an engineering, construction, supply chain, manufacturing, or another technical fieldProven organizational skills, as well as the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks at onceProficient in Microsoft Office, including strong knowledge and use of Word, Excel, and MS ProjectMust have TWIC Card
